Particle Horizon
“I can’t convey how amazing Al made this entire process for me”
The Client first contacted us saying how much she loved our artwork and asked if we could create something special for her home, similar in style to both I’ve Got Something to Say and Strange Times but in specific colours of her choosing.
One of the most enjoyable aspects of painting a bespoke piece of art for someone’s home, is working with them to try and establish exactly what it is they are after and then tailoring the design, step by step, so as to eventually end up with something they truly love and know they have been a part of creating.
In this instance the Client was fantastic to work with. Although she had a basic idea of the style and colours she wanted, she was very open to suggestions and ideas - which always helps allow a certain level of creative expression and freedom during the creation process. As always, Al requested a photo of the space in which the painting would reside and, once the basic elements were agreed upon, he got to work and provided some initial digital designs for the Client to review.
Although digitally created designs such as those above cannot be perfectly reproduced in an original painting, they provide both Client and Artist a valuable, visual representation with which to establish a basis for the overall composition.
After further discussions and some updates to the favoured designs, painting could begin! As is sometimes the case, Al decided to create individual pieces based on each of these - providing the Client with progress photos and allowing them to add any input/suggestions as the artwork(s) take shape. Upon completion, each piece is digitally placed on the Clients wall so they can get a clear interpretation of how each one would look in it’s new home and with different framing options!
Upon review, the Client eventually decided that the first painting was her absolute favourite (although she actually said she wished she could purchase all three!) but asked if it would be possible to add some additional mauve/purple tones. Not a problem…..
The finished painting looked amazing and the Client was rather happy…“I love it sooooooo much! There was a gasp when I first saw it!”
After some deliberation as to what to name the piece (”Particle Potato” was mused for a while following a private joke between the two) “Particle Horizon” was eventually agreed upon - mainly on account of the Clients love of Sci-Fi - and it just worked!
The Client decided that a black frame was the best option to really show off and draw focus to the vivid colours of the piece itself. Sometimes a frame can detract from the energy of this particular “detonation” style piece - but in this case it was a perfect fit and the finished result speaks for itself!
We are always truly honoured whenever asked to create a piece of art for someone - especially when the artwork is to be hung in their home and therefore seen by them every day! We always try to establish a good relationship with the Client and recognise that this often quite a big investment for them - so will always try to go that extra mile to ensure they are 100% happy with the final product.
In this particular instance, Al was lucky enough to build a great rapport with the Client which, as is evident by their comments below, really helps make the whole process an enjoyable and exciting experience for both parties. Receiving amazing feedback like this honestly makes it all worthwhile and is always so very much appreciated!!

You’ve been amazing and made the whole process so fun for me (I wish every business interaction I have could be this great).
All the best in everything you do. The painting is AMAZING! Thank you so much! I am pondering what to put on another wall so I may well be back in touch soon!”
