Frequently Asked Questions - Framing

Artwork / Framing / Commissions / Payment / Delivery / Returns Policy

What type of frames do you supply?

The wooden Tray/Floater style canvas frames that we use are manufactured by and purchased from a third party framework company. Canvas floater frames give the illusion the canvas you place in the frame is floating in the distinctive space within the frame. These frames are usually used if you want to display a gallery wrap canvas since the edge of the painting or the canvas print does not get covered, and displays the entirety of the canvas leaving nothing to the imagination. Canvas Floater Frames are supplied without any glazing or backing. If you would like your artwork framed in an alternative type of frame please email us in advance to discuss.

Do you only sell Black or White Frames?

We only keep Black and White frames in stock, however, if you require something different please email us in advance to discuss. Other options are available upon request but please be aware that this will likely result in additional costs and extended delivery times.

Can I have a piece of artwork framed by you if the framing option is not available?

If a framing option is not available it means we do not currently have that size/colour frame in stock – so please email us in advance to discuss if framing is still required. Please note that this will likely result in additional costs and extended delivery times.

How is the canvas fitted to the frame?

The painted canvas will be fixed to the inner section of the floater frame using multiple Command/Adhesive Velcro strips in addition to framing tape.

The canvas does not fit flush to the frame or is slightly bent/uneven?

As outlined above, although great care is taken to avoid using distorted canvases in the first instance, the application of layers of paint or pressure applied can occasionally cause an element of “bowing” in a canvases wooden support frame. This is a common and somewhat expected/accepted factor that occurs with a lot of original artwork painted on canvas. We will always take great care when framing a piece of artwork and do all we can to ensure your painting looks as good as it can prior to sending out.

The frame has arrived damaged?

If the frame is damaged in anyway please email us immediately upon receipt and provide photos of the damage in question and we will look into how best to resolve the issue for you. Any damage must be reported to us within three days of delivery and all original packaging kept in case the item needs to be returned.

The canvas has come unstuck from the frame?

If the canvas has come unstuck from the frame during transportation please email us immediately upon receipt and provide photos to illustrate the issue. For any issues of this nature occurring after initial delivery, please email us to discuss how best to resolve the matter.

Do I receive any fixtures to hang my framed artwork on the wall?

Yes standard wall mounting fixtures are provided (that come with the frame direct from the third party frameworks company).
